Annual fee considerations

There is a high annual fee of $350 which is not waived the first year. We value Delta miles at $0.01 each, so a 60,000 mile bonus is worth $600. That more than covers the first year's annual fee. Even if you did not make use of any of the other benefits, this card is worth having for a year. You need to cancel before the 1 year anniversary in order to avoid paying the $350 annual fee again. Also consider the Delta SkyMiles Gold card with a 50,000 mile bonus for a lower annual fee which is waived the first year.

Lounge access & companion certificate

This card does not give you any lounge access. If you want lounge access, then pay the higher annual fee on the Reserve card. This card gets you an economy companion certificate each year whereas the Reserve card gets you a first class companion certificate. This card comes with various travel statement credits similar to the Reserve card. This card also gives you access to the upgrade list, but lower priority than Delta SkyMiles Medallion Members and Reserve Card Members. It only takes a few people ahead of you to take up any available first class or business class seats, so the upgrade list benefit of this card is not valuable.

3x miles earned on Delta purchases

If you spend a lot on Delta flights, the 3x miles earned per dollar is a nice perk. That's like earning 3% back on Delta flights. The Reserve card with a higher annual fee has the same 3x earned per dollar on Delta, so get the Platinum card if you want to earn more miles with a lower annual fee.

Priority boarding & other savings

Don't choose this card for the priority boarding, in-flight purchase discount, or award travel savings. You get the same priority boarding zone and 15% award travel savings as the Gold card which has a lower annual fee. You get the same 20% credit for in-flight purchases as all the other Delta cards including the one with no annual fee.
