The United Quest credit card offers many benefits including 60,000 bonus miles when you spend $4,000 in the first 3 months.
We rate cards based on value, cost, and perks.
Our ratings for this card are:
Annual fee considerations
There is an annual fee of $250 which is not waived the first year. We value United miles at $0.01 each, so a 60,000 mile bonus is worth $600. That more than covers the first year's annual fee. Even if you did not make use of any of the other benefits, this card is worth having for a year. You need to cancel before the 1 year anniversary in order to avoid paying the $250 annual fee again. Also consider the United Explorer card with a 50,000 mile bonus for a lower annual fee which is waived the first year.
Lounge access & companion certificate
This card does not give you any lounge access. Oddly, the lower level Explorer card gives you 2 United club one-time passes per year. If you want more frequent lounge access, then pay the higher annual fee on the Infinite card. This card doesn't give you any companion certificates. Unlike other airlines, United does not offer companion certificates as a benefit of its credit card program.
3x miles earned on United purchases
If you spend a lot on United flights, the 3x miles earned per dollar is a nice perk. That's like earning 3% back on United flights. The Infinite card with a higher annual fee gives you 4x earned per dollar on United if you want to earn even more miles.
Priority boarding & other savings
Don't choose this card for the priority boarding or in-flight purchase discounts. You get the same priority boarding as the Explorer card which has a lower annual fee. You get the same 25% credit for in-flight purchases as all the other United cards including the one with no annual fee.
